The first act of queer activism in my life I think was when I was 14 or 15 and took a shirt and wrote “Heterosexuality isn’t normal, just more common” and wore it to school. I used a marker pencil and it looked weird but was ok because I was a punk rocker. I was nervous when I went to school but my friends liked it. The Religion teacher said “so you think so, really?” And I said “Yes”. And no one else said anything.
