My object is actually several individual business cards, which collectively I view as my ‘object’. It’s difficult for me to choose just one of the pack, as each represent my character and interests. There is something for everyone here; Rhinestone Rhino, Pimped Bull or Bullring Birmingham Fame, Queered Rotunda building, image of a 1976 Gay Liberation Front Magazine, Black British actress, and a 1920’s ‘fellow’. As a straight woman, working for an LGBT organization, these cards mean so much to me. They represent my cultural identity, my hometown, my deep love or history and heritage, my community activism and the multiplicity of my identity…
To my homelands, Africa and Jamaica- those who have suffered oppression should never condone, contribute to or inflict oppression on other humans. - Identifierare
