I’ve not seen him for almost 10 years. It’s true that I’ve given up. I stopped being the chaser when I found out he’s the eldest and only son in his family. His parents are old, and they really want to have grandchildren.
His situation and my feeling is the inspiration for this painting. In this painting, I pictured a mask, the body of a woman whose hair is floating, lying on a lotus leaf, as well as a man portrait.
I think homosexual relationships have their own beauty, and it’s not so different from the relationship between a man and a woman. The heart of a homosexual man does have “invisible nostalgia”, just like the poem “two colours of Antigone” by T.T.Kh, but his nostalgia has been covered by a “manly heterosexual mask”.
